About
Receitas Boa is a free resource for learning scrapbooking from the very beginning. Every guide on the site is written for people who have a pile of photos and a blank page and are not sure where the first piece of paper should go.
The name comes from the domain the site lives on. The subject is paper craft: photos, cardstock, layout and memory keeping. There are no recipes or food content here.
What you will find here
- Beginner guides that explain the fundamentals: which supplies are worth having, how to choose an album and paper, which adhesive goes where, and how to keep a small workspace in order.
- Layout and photo guides on composition, two-page spreads, color palettes, and choosing, cropping and arranging photos.
- Technique and project guides for handmade embellishments, tags, borders, layering, pockets, journaling areas, mini albums and seasonal pages.
If you are new, the best place to begin is Scrapbooking for Beginners, followed by the guide to scrapbooking supplies. The full list of guides is on the Tutorials page.
How the guides are written
Each tutorial lists the materials at the top, describes one action per step, explains why the choice works, and points out where beginners most often go wrong. Sizes are given in inches and centimeters and are suggestions, not requirements.
Layouts. The layouts described here are generic arrangements, such as grids, bands, columns and clusters, explained in our own words. We do not reproduce published sketches, templates, kits or other makers’ commercial designs, and we do not name brands.
Examples. The guides do not tell invented personal stories. When an example helps, it is a generic one, such as “a birthday” or “a trip to the coast”, so that you can replace it with your own.
Paper and photo care. We explain what labels such as acid-free, lignin-free and photo-safe are meant to indicate, but we do not promise how long any product will protect a photo. That question belongs to the manufacturer of the product you are using. For irreplaceable pictures, the guides suggest working with copies and keeping the originals or digital backups.
Illustrations. The images on this site are simplified drawings made to show arrangements, tools and the order of steps. Photos appear as blank illustrated placeholders. They are diagrams, not photographs of finished pages.
We do not publish invented reviews, ratings or testimonials.
